The Simple Woman's Daybook

Please visit Peggy at The Simple Woman for more Daybook entries!

Outside my window... it is dark and mostly quiet, except for our little next door neighbor jumping up and down with excitement.

I am thinking... about what God is calling me for, and what I can do to be a better Christian.

I am thankful for... my husband's mother, who spent the weekend in the hospital with heart trouble, but is now comfortably resting at home. We will head down south this weekend to be there for her.

I am creating... an iphone cozy, a washcloth, and a woolen scarf. Many crochet projects at once! I hope to start on a baby blanket this weekend.

I am reading... One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp, Witness to Hope: A Biography of Pope John Paul II by George Weigel

I am hoping... for more strength to continue down this path that God has put me on. I am also hoping to hear from Novel, my Compassion International child, who I have not heard from in a few months. I pray that all is well for her and her family.

I am hearing... Brian tidying up in the kitchen, and the end of the Laker game on the TV. Sorry they lost honey! :(

Around the house... Brian's presents are beginning to accumulate from Amazon, there's a box of wine we received as a gift, and an increasing pile of yarn and crochet hooks in the living room...though I don't mind.

One of my favorite things... Reading about large Catholic blogging families! They inspire me so much - I truly cannot wait to have kids.

A few plans for the rest of the week... Getting through this hectic work week of packing for the new move...hopefully enjoying rain on Thursday. Friday night/Saturday morning we will leave for Brian's mom's house to spend the weekend with her. We do not have anything planned other than that (except laundry, which take advantage of there since it is free).

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
